Editorial Ethics

The scientific journal “Industrial Transport of Kazakhstan” is committed to strictly adhering to the ethical principles established by international organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and to maintaining high standards of publication ethics by setting norms and guidelines for best practices in compliance with these principles.

The Editorial Board of “Industrial Transport of Kazakhstan” is responsible for making publication decisions regarding submitted manuscripts. The evaluation of submitted materials must be based solely on their intellectual and scientific merit. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject any material that violates legal requirements, including those related to defamation, copyright infringement, or plagiarism.

The Editorial Office ensures the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts prior to their publication. The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed scientific journal is an essential component in the development of scientific knowledge and serves as an indication of the quality of the authors’ work and the institutions supporting them. Peer-reviewed articles contribute to the advancement and integrity of the scientific method. Therefore, it is crucial to define the standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and the scientific community.

  1. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that all individuals who meet the criteria for authorship are appropriately credited. Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study, have participated in drafting or critically revising the manuscript, have approved its final version, and accept responsibility for the integrity of the entire work.

Authors must carefully review the list and order of co-authors prior to submission and obtain consent from all co-authors for submission to the selected journal.
Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately in the Acknowledgments section.

  1. Originality and Plagiarism

Authors are required to submit original research that has not been previously published. Plagiarism in any form constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Proper citation of the work of others must always be provided when referencing their ideas, data, or text.

Authors should avoid redundant or duplicate publication to preserve the integrity of the scientific record.
Redundant publication refers to the division of one study into several parts published in different journals (self-plagiarism), while duplicate publication refers to submitting the same manuscript to two or more journals simultaneously.

  1. Data Integrity and Confidentiality

Authors are obliged to present accurate and authentic data and to ensure proper documentation. When necessary, they must provide access to raw data upon request from the editors for verification purposes.

When using confidential, proprietary, or classified data, authors must comply with relevant ethical and legal standards.
Public disclosure of the contents of reviews or editorial correspondence without the consent of the editorial office is considered unethical behavior.

  1. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest — financial, personal, or institutional — that could be perceived as influencing the interpretation of research results. This includes, but is not limited to, financial sponsorship, relationships with commercial entities, or other associations that could compromise objectivity.

All sources of financial support (grants, sponsorships, targeted funding) must be acknowledged, and the role of sponsors in data collection, analysis, or interpretation should be clearly stated, where applicable.

  1. Ethical Considerations in Research Involving Humans or Animals

When conducting research involving humans, animals, or confidential data, authors must adhere to applicable ethical standards protecting the rights, dignity, and confidentiality of participants.

All necessary ethical approvals and informed consents must be obtained before the commencement of the study. For research involving personal data, authors must comply with relevant data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Authors bear full responsibility for ensuring that their research meets ethical and legal requirements and for safeguarding the welfare of research participants.
