The quality and smoothness of roads play an important role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of modern transportation systems. Proper design and quality of the pavement directly affect the stresses on the vehicle structure and passenger comfort. The aim of this study is to evaluate the smoothness of roads and develop new methods for pavement restoration. During the study, the height variance of road profile irregularities was analyzed, and spectral density methods were applied. Calculations were performed for various measurement bases, and pavement treatment methods were proposed to minimize stresses during vehicle movement. The results showed that the length of the measurement base plays an important role in evaluating variance of irregularities, and the road smoothness should correspond to the vehicle’s average vibration frequency. The practical significance of the study lies in providing a foundation for designing road technological machines that reduce structural stresses and improve passenger comfort during pavement construction and repair. This methodology is aimed at increasing the effectiveness of road quality assessment and restoration, as well as ensuring the safety and reliability of traffic.
